Rachel Arputharajoo-MiddletonRachel Arputharajoo-Middleton is the chief editor of APM Health Europe. Based in London, she co-ordinates a team of journalists around Europe. She was formerly senior editor with Thomson Reuters in London and as Training Editor, was involved in the setting up of editorial operations for Thomson Financial News in Bangalore and Mumbai. She was also the bureau chief for AFX News in Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia. Prior to moving to the newswires, she was a journalist with the New Straits Times, an English national newspaper in Malaysia. She has an MBA in Banking and Finance and a law degree from the University of London. Kevin FletcherRobert GalbraithRobert is an English reporter who works as APM’s Italy correspondent, based in Milan. He has been reporting on various economic issues for fifteen years and speaks fluent Italian and French. Nick HudsonNick has specialised in business reporting for the past 14 years, split between the UK’s Press Association and television’s commercial text service Teletext. He has covered business developments - results, mergers and acquisitions and stock market movements of Europe’s major pharmaceutical groups. Nick is an APM correspondent for the UK and Ireland and is based at our offices in London. Jonathan LopezJonathan Lopez is a junior reporter with APM Health Europe. He has an MA in International Journalist from City University London and a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Peter O’DonnellPeter O’Donnell is an EU-accredited Brussels-based journalist who has been covering European affairs for over twenty years. He has worked for The Financial Times, The Sunday Times, Reuters, the Economist Intelligence Unit, UPI, Euronews, and many other media in Europe and beyond. He is a former editor-in-chief of Europe Information Service, and is an associate editor of European Voice. He was deputy editor of Scrip in the 1980s, and has written for many specialist publications in the pharmaceutical and healthcare sector. Monique SimpsonMonique Simpsons is a junior reporter for APM Health Europe. She studied European Studies with German at the Royal Holloway University of London and completed her fast-track National Council for the Training of Journalists (NCTJ). She has had various work experience placements with a number of organisations across different media formats. Nick SmithNick has reported healthcare developments, particularly in British primary care, since 1997. Over a period that has seen some of greatest changes in UK healthcare history he has analysed the changing fortunes and interactions of all players in this market - from dispensing doctor to pharma corporation. He has reported on NICE since its inception and maintains a special interest in health technology assessment and regulation, with a keen eye on where the two overlap bolstered by access to heads of bodies including; the EMA, MHRA and NICE. Richard StainesRichard Staines has been a journalist since 1999 and has specialised in health writing for the last five years. He has written for several healthcare journals in the UK, including Pulse, the Nursing Times and the Nursing Standard, covering topics like the swine flu epidemic and the NHS deficits crisis in 2006. Richard has also contributed to national newspapers on a freelance basis. He is based at APM’s office in London. Philippe WackelPhilippe has been a senior journalist with APM for more than five years reporting on the pharmaceutical industry for APM International. He is French and also fluent in German, Dutch and English. He is based in Berlin.
